It was such an honor to be trusted to record this beautiful day.  Bethany and Shane's love for each other and for God just showed throughout their ceremony.  I wish you all the best as you embark on this new journey together!

live with the characters! 2015 It was such an honor when I was asked to photograph this special event.  Live with the Characters! is a fun show and character experience that benefits the Just Keep Smiling Foundation.  Haven't heard of JKS?  Go check it out!  This organization is such a blessing for families of terminally ill children.  Hint, hint...They also rent out character costumes for parties!!

Here are just a few images I captured that morning.  My guys had a great time dancing with the characters and even meeting one special sponge.  ;)

To see even more images from this special event check out the gallery here.  Thank you to the Just Keep Smiling founders for trusting me with this special project.

pilkington senior - october 2014 Back before this crazy weather came to town, I got to meet up with this beautiful young lady.  We did her senior session in two different locations which I love doing.  We got a great variety of images and were able to really show off her fun personality.  Enjoy!  =)

walker family - november 2014 I've been lucky enough to meet up with this fun family a few times this year.  Mom is so great to work with and so easy going.  But she comes to her session with fun ideas for us to do.  This session was all about Christmas and I think we did pretty good.  =)

The images with Miss L and her mom....melt my heart!  I just love those memories.

white family - november 2014 Oh my goodness, these two little ladies were so much fun to photograph!  I knew their Dad way back in the dark ages when we were in high school together.  It was great catching up with him.  And they had just been to Disney!  So we had LOTS to chat about.

I'll warn you, the weather was cold.  We live in Alabama after all, so it changes every 5 minutes.  This 5 minutes it was cold so we had to bundle up in blankets, of course!

The youngest, Miss K was such a ham.  She's at that great age where she's totally comfortable with the camera and herself.  LOVE all of her images but these were some of my favorites.

Thanks guys for a fun, chilly afternoon.  =)

our disney tree 2014 It's no secret that we LOVE Disney!  We love the parks at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL and we really love the Disney Cruise Line.  They are both such happy places for us.  We love the happy feeling that surrounds you and it's just such fun to be there.  Of course, I had to dedicate one of our Christmas trees to all things Disney.  We used some Disney ornaments but also some random trip stuff - luggage tags, Mickey ears, Magic Bands, etc.  We have enjoyed reliving wonderful trip memories while looking at our Disney Christmas tree this year.

365 project | jan 4, 2014 The 365 project is an idea that I love.  This project is all about recording those daily moments that might otherwise get forgotten.  I've attempted this several times in the past and had a tough time sticking to it.  Well, for 2014 I'm giving it another go.  Will I take a picture every day?  No.  In fact, I didn't snap the shutter once on January 1.  And that's ok.  It's all about capturing the moments, no stressing myself out.  So here are the first few pics of our crazy, beautiful 2014.

valentine's day mini sessions {birmingham, al photographer} I'll be perfectly honest here, mini sessions aren't really my "thing."  I believe to truly capture a child's personality and a family's relationship you need at least an hour of time together.  The kiddos need to be playing and having fun, mom needs to be relaxed and dad just needs to know it's gonna be worth getting all dressed up for. ;)  But I love creating custom Valentine's Day cards for my kiddos to give to their friends and I wanted to offer this to my clients.  A full session isn't necessary to capture enough images for a card so we did mini sessions.  I had planned to have these outside but Mother Nature made other plans.  So I set this up in my studio super quick and was good to go.  Despite the last minute changes, I think we got some cute, fun images.  Thank you to everyone who came and I hope all of your Valentine recipients enjoyed their cards.  =)

the happiest place on earth {birmingham, al photographer} Wow, what an awesome trip!!  We love visiting the Mouse {Mickey, of course!} and winter is our favorite time to go.  The weather is cooler {no humidity and a "cool" 75 degrees}, the crowds are much lower and the price is cheaper.  Yes, we're cheap.  ;)  My awesome best friend was nice enough to let us crash their trip and we had a great week.  Here are some of the many, many pictures we took.  Some of them were taken by me, some by my BFF and some by my husband.  But they were all taken with iPhones.  =)

So obviously it was a MAGICAL week with the Mouse.  There are a ton more pictures in this gallery if you want to see more.  Disney World is one of the most photographic places on Earth.  I could very easily spend a month there just taking photographs {and eating.}  I'm such a Disney nerd that all the details and stories behind those details are so interesting.  One day when I can go to Disney without kids, I'd love to take some of the tours that go behind the scenes.  How cool would it be to see behind the scenes at Magic Kingdom?  Awesome!  I was so excited to see the new Fantasyland and it did not disappoint.  Loved the Little Mermaid ride and Be Our Guest was beautiful!!  Disney World is the only place I would ever wait 45 minutes for "fast food."  And I'd do it again in a heartbeat just to see inside the restaurant.  =)  We had a great trip and can't wait to visit the Mouse again!  {And, yes, that is a hot dog with mac and cheese.  It was pretty yummy!}

fun family {birmingham, al photographer} This was such a fun session!  We met up in the studio for a bit and then went out to Morris Avenue once it warmed up.  It was still pretty chilly but we made the most of it.  This Mom is very blessed - three handsome men in her life.  I know just how she feels.  ;)

christmas 2012 {birmingham, al photographer} Jackson declared this the "Best Christmas Ever!" and I have to agree.  Both boys had a wonderful day and got everything they wanted {and more!}  More importantly, we had a great day as a family enjoying each other and relaxing.  Here are a few of the many, many pictures I took...

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas as well!
